On March 6th, our class 6B had the exciting opportunity to visit IIASA (International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis) in Laxenburg. We were invited to learn about climate change in an interactive way – through digital games. At the beginning of our visit, Jan Steinhauer, a researcher from IIASA gave us a short introduction, explaining the institute´s work, everything about systems and how digital games can be used to raise awareness about climate change. We visited Stonehenge. 2nd day: school in the morning, the beach in the afternoon and Bowling in the evening. 3rd day: Today after school we went to Torquay, the birthplace of Agatha Christie. Das Projekt:Seit September haben 15 SchülerInnen aus den 2.-5. Klassen im Rahmen der unverbindlichen Übung reACT an unserem Theaterstück „Just like that“ geprobt. Nicht immer waren die Proben aufgrund von Krankheiten und Abwesenheiten einfach und oft auch sehr anstrengend. Zusätzlich zu der einen Wochenstunde, in welcher wir regelmäßig probten, gab es zwei reACT Wochenenden mit Intensivproben. Allein in den letzten 2,5 Wochen haben wir ungefähr zusätzliche 25 Stunden für Proben und Aufführungen investiert. In March, 7A spent 5 days in Dublin. We were really lucky with the weather as we had almost no rain. But it was rather windy, especially at the coast. The city centre isn’t too big so it wasn’t too hard to find our way around. The only thing that really needed some getting used to was the traffic – not the fact that cars drive on the “wrong” side but crossing the road was rather difficult. Am Dienstag, den 27.02.2024, fand das Englische Theater für unsere Unterstufenklassen statt. Dieses Jahr stand das berührende Stück „The Little Prince“ auf dem Programm. Hier, ein kurzer Eindruck einer Schülerin: „The theatre play „The Little Prince“ was funny and cool. The story was exciting and the performance was also very convincing. Das Erlernen einer neuen Fremdsprache ist nicht nur spannend, sondern bietet auch die Möglichkeit, den Blick auf schon bekannte Sprachen zu richten. Ausgehend von der Tatsache, dass uns jede Sprache ihre eigene Weltanschauung vermittelt, haben wir uns in den ersten Wochen des Italienischunterrichts der 5. Klassen auch mit bereits vorhandenen (Fremd-)Sprachenkenntnissen auseinandergesetzt und dabei entdeckt, dass wir alle zusammen wirklich viele Sprachen sprechen: In beiden Klassen sind es je 8 verschiedene! Natürlich beherrschen wir alle Deutsch und Englisch und nun auch schon ein bisschen Italienisch.
